Atieno provides strengths-based coaching and experiential learning to organizations and individuals under stress, fostering sustainable resilience and developing peer knowledge-sharing systems. The Founder and Principal of Usoni, Atieno is a group facilitator and speaker, a certified yoga instructor (200 hrs) and a certified practitioner (CP) of Psychodrama, which she adapts for use in experiential learning for leadership and emotional intelligence. She is experienced in facilitating encounters between parties in conflict (MA, Conflict Transformation) and has lived and worked in the United States, Africa, Europe and the Middle East. Atieno has used her facilitation and program design skills to help people transform and thrive in settings ranging from a psychiatric hospital to the World Bank.
Atieno consults from Columbia Heights in Washington, DC, and spends her free time by the Greenbrier River in Lewisburg, West Virginia, where she helped construct a straw-bale house that is available as a venue for retreats.
